What to do now

Stay safe around sewage, limit water use, note what you see, then request a visit.

  1. Stop using sinks, showers, tubs and toilets that are backing up.
  2. Keep people and pets away from sewage; keep electrics away from standing water.
  3. Note whether multiple fixtures are affected and check the cleanout if you can do so safely.
  4. Photograph any backup if it is safe.
  5. Send the request form.
  6. Contact your insurer or landlord if sewage has entered the home.
